Who we are

Academy of Fun is committed to serving youth ages 5-16 to offer quality youth services that are affordable for all families. Does your child excel academically, but has a desire to develop friendships? Perhaps, your child is a ‘social butterfly’, but wishes for extra help academically? Could it be possible that your child wants a place where they can be a better athlete, artist, or student, but there is not enough time in the day or an

affordable place for them to express themselves? Whatever the case, we offer a safe place for school-age children to continue to learn, grow and be the best version of themselves. With over 25 years of experience, our team provides quality care, service, professionalism, and strong relationships with our families. Rest assured, your child will not miss a beat when it comes to academics, social-emotional development, and FUN!

History

During the thick of the pandemic, many parents were essential workers and needed supervision for their children. Erica, unable to work herself, decided to give parents a source of hope and help by establishing a mini camp at a local hotel ballroom. This is when Academy of Fun was born. There the children played games, swim, practiced some academic skills, all while maintaining friendships and social distancing.

Owner/Director
Over 25 years of experience in youth development, childcare and business administration. She's played basketball at the collegiate level for 2 years and holds an A.S. in Human Service, Youth Development and a B.A.S. in Supervision and Management. Mrs. Wint is currently the Site Director for a school-based Afterschool Program that serves over 200 students. During the pandemic, Erica continued to serve and support students virtually. She prides herself in giving youth a voice in the program to deliver program offerings that serve the interests of the students, improve their academic performance and socioemotional skills.
Erica's favorite thing is being a mom, but when mom needs a break you can find her at the beach, brunching with friends, and enjoying a live band.

Distinctive Coaching, Bold Leadership

Co-owner/Coach
Serves as an Assistant Athletic Director & Physical Education
teacher for students in grades K-8th. When he is not teaching
a class, you can find him on the field coaching Elementary
Flag Football or on the courts coaching basketball or
volleyball. He has also dedicated his time training up and
coming student athletes who desire to enhance their skills
with the intent of making their high school teams or
improving performance in the game. Mr. Wint has
demonstrated his gifted coaching ability by leading several
winning teams or drastically improving the performance of
teams who had struggling seasons. Coach is a self-proclaimed Math Wiz and a die-hard Dallas Cowboys Fan!
